“When I Grow Up I Want To Be...” Calendar

Thanks to Danielle Bodony and those who participated in calendar sales, more than $1400 has been raised so far as part of this special project.

Danielle Bodony of Forever Young Photography was touched by Joanna’s story and wanted to help our foundation in some way.  Danielle created a very special project, a calendar entitled “When I Grow Up, I Want To Be...” The calendar features professional black and white portraits of children with some of their career attire or props colorized.  There is  football player, fireman, businessman, magician, nurse, lifeguard, pilot, artist, farmer and a baker. There is even a plumber who has the tools of the trade including the “plumbers crack”. The back page of the calendar features one of our favorite pictures of Joanna.

A few calendars remain, the cost is $15 and all proceeds benefit our foundation. Below is one of the pictures from the calendar along with a quote from Danielle explaining why she got involved.

As a business owner in the area I feel it is so important to give back to the community. The Lord has truly blessed me in so many ways and I am so thankful. I tried to think of a way to combine two of my loves, that of children and photography in a way to benefit others. And so the idea of " When I Grow Up, I Want To Be..." was born. I wanted the proceeds to benefit children's cancer research so that we can wipe out this terrible deadly disease that robs our children of their dreams.

About the time I began shooting the images for the calendar I met Jeff McAfee through a mutual friend. I knew instantly I wanted to be a part of the Joanna McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation. When I read Joanna's story I openly wept. What a courageous, wonderful little girl. God put her here on earth to touch the lives of so many people and even now she continues to touch the lives of so many. So please support the wonderful work that the Joanna McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation is doing and purchase a calendar. 100% of the proceeds will go straight to the foundation.
